BOWIE Ian Gillespie (Carlops, latterly Penicuik) Peacefully at Cairdean House, Edinburgh, on Thursday, 2nd August, 2018, Ian, aged 87, much loved uncle of Patricia, Frances and Julie, loving companion of the late Marie Buchanan for many years and very special great-uncle of Susan, Jane, Holly, Michael and Catriona. Funeral service at Mortonhall Crematorium Pentland Chapel on Friday August 24th, at 11.30 am, to which all friends respectfully invited. Family flowers only please.

I recall Ian well as one of the schoolboys in our class at Peebles High School in the early 1940's. He was a friendly and quiet talking laddie, and I still have a class photo of that time showing him and all the rest of us.
My condolences go out to the members of his family.
