Sky's the limit for brave Vince
By Susie Penman
Vince Woods was diagnosed with esophagus cancer last June.
BIKING and swimming every single day of the week; working as a music teacher and holding a big fundraising concert over Christmastime; father of three daughters—it’s no secret that Peebles resident Vince Woods leads a busy life.
And now Mr Woods—who was diagnosed with esophagus cancer last June after feeling a slight discomfort in his throat—is about to take the ultimate plunge and do a fundraising sky dive.
His younger sister, Caroline Wills, who runs Xanadu Salon in Peebles, said she couldn’t believe how well her brother was doing.
“Doctors are saying they’re absolutely amazed,” she said, adding that her brother—who stopped his chemo treatments about three months ago—had undergone “massive chemotherapy” after finding out he was ill.
“It’s really amazing,” she said. “There’s no holding him back.”
“There are so many people in our position who need to hear his story,” she added. “Everyday at the salon somebody walks in who is dealing with cancer.”
The jump is Sunday, March 23rd at Kinross Airfield. Anybody who would like to sponsor Vince call Caroline Wills at 01721 721 363.
