AS Peebles prepare to head for Ellon tomorrow, grassroots rugby at the club has been given a boost after it received a Kit for Development grant from Scottish Rugby’s community partner, Scottish Hydro Electric.

Immediately, however, Peebles will be concentrating on the game at Ellon, where they have never won as the battle for the two places in Premiership 2 next season.

The noose is tightening at the top where Gala and Kirkcaldy are the main challengers to Peebles’ hopes.

And no doubt, Peebles will be hoping that Gala can beat Kirkcaldy next week!

Tonight, Friday, Peebles 3rd XV plays Biggar 3rd at The Gytes, meet at 6.30 p.m. for a 7.30 p.m. kick off. Team from G Forsyth, R Nielsen, P Whelan, J Currie, A Brown, R Fletcher, J Graham, J Stevens, B Anderson, P McBride, A Beaumont, K Gibson, J Charters, S Taylor, D Kerr, S Brockie, P Dodds, E Waddel, D Cornwall, N MacIver.

It is hoped that the 2nd XV will have a game on Saturday, kicking off at 2 p.m. (opponents and venue to be arranged).
