Finalists apart in sevens draw

Hawick, the holders, and Melrose, beaten finalists last year, are in different halves of the draw for the opening round of the spring sevens at Netherdale on Sunday, April 6.
Two other seeds, Selkirk and Gala, join them in a draw, which could see a repeat of last year’s all-Borders semi-final lineup.
The draw for the Allied Irish Bank (GB) Gala sevens was made on Monday on Radio Borders by John Gray and Gordon Keddie.
The full line-up for the sports, which start at 1.30 p.m., is :
Melrose v. Dundee;
Watsonians v. Jed-forest;
Edinburgh Accies v. Cartha Queen’s Park;
Selkirk v. Hamilton;
Gala v. Berwick;
Langholm v. Heriot’s;
Kelso v. Peebles;
Hawick v. Haddington.
