Tweeddale earn share of points
Redpath Albion 2 v Tweeddale Rovers 2
TWEEDALE Rovers travelled to Leith on Saturday for their last away fixture of the season and came away with a share of the points, in a game that was far from a classic.
Redpath had the better of the early exchanges but it was Tweeddale who opened the scoring on 12 minutes.
Play had broken down in midfield and Rathie's long pass found McLeod on the run into the box , then his clever cut-back was turned into the net by the on rushing Alan McMath.
The half continued at no great pace, then Redpath were given a chance to level just after the half-hour mark when Cornwall's seeming fair challenge at the edge of the area, had the referee pointing to the spot.
' Dale' keeper, Murray Thomson was determined to see justice prevail, and promptly saved the resulting kick to send the visitors into the break holding on to their slender lead.
Redpath came out all guns blazing straight form the restart to the second half, and after a series of corner kicks found themselves stun the Rovers with two quick goals to take the lead. This was to last a mere five minutes as McMath hit his second of the game in the 57th minute to level proceedings once more. That was the only excitement of the game and both teams settled for a point apiece.
