Lynn takes the plunge for Channel swim

Peebles swimmer Lynn Duncan (Beltane Queen 2000) started her Open Water season on Saturday 7 June with a 3K swim in the East District Championships at Lochore Meadows in Fife.

She finished in second place in what she called “too short “a distance!

Last Saturday she took part in a fund raising/training swim for her Channel Relay attempt at the beginning of July.

She should have been swimming from Perth to Dundee - 22 miles, same distance as the Channel – with her relay partner.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances the swim was moved to Loch Earn where the girls swam a total of 15 miles between them.

Each girl was in the water for an hour at a time as required by the Channel Swimming Association.

Lynn would like to thank everyone who sponsored her for this swim, helping her fund the Channel attempt.

After returning from, hopefully a successful, Channel swim, Lynn intends to take part in further Open Water swims including an attempt at Loch Lomond and then Lake Windermere.

For both these swims she needs boat crew to accompany her swims. If anyone is able to assist her please email ann55b@yahoo.co.uk
