Keira Knightley and Matthew Rhys

The Edge of Love:

Starring Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, Cillian Murphy and Matthew Rhys.

From director John Maybury comes this love story, based on true events, focusing on the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas's relationship with his wife Caitlin(Miller) and Vera(Knighley), who he had a relationship with during his teenage years. Dylan, played be Matthew Rhys, encounters Vera again during the second World War in London and despite being married finds that he still has strong feelings for his first love. Caitlin and Vera strike up a surprisingly close friendship considering they are rivals for the affection of Thomas. The situation for Thomas becomes complicated further when Vera decides to marry William Killick(Murphy). She chooses to return to Wales after Killick is posted abroad and continues her affair which threatens to destroy her connection with Caitlin. After Killick returns from his service overseas, both he and Vera realise that they have both changed during the period since they were last together and tensions become even more heightened when he discovers Vera has being seeing a lot of Thomas in his absence.

The Escapist:

Starring Brian Cox, Joseph Fiennes, Seu Jorge and Damian Lewis.

Brithish prison drama in which Frank Perry(Cox) is serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. When he learns that his daughter is gravely ill, he decides that he must hatch an escape plan in order to ask for her forgiveness for all the terrible deeds he has done in the past. He assembles a group of fellow convicts including Viv(Jorge) and Lenny(Fiennes) to assist in his escape efforts.

However a particularly nasty inmate named Rizza(Lewis), is intent on making things as difficult as possible for Perry as he is not fond of the idea of another prisoner achieving freedom before he does. They eventually negotiate an agreement which consists of Rizza joining the escape team and Perry helping him to go abroad if their plan is successful. Much of the film is set in the underground tunnels and sewers of London which highlights just how difficult their task is.
