A GARDENER from Peebles has made a call to the public to keep their eyes peeled for his stolen acer tree.
Matthew Archibald's prized plant went missing last Tuesday.
He told the Peeblesshire News: "For three years I carefully trimmed and pruned my acer tree, grown in a planter.
"It was now in a nice umbrella shape that I much admired.
"But, unfortunately someone else has also admired it and it disappeared from my garden two weekends ago.
"So I would warn all gardeners in the area to be aware that any favourite plants should be moved to a secure position in their gardens - just in case."
