A BEAUTICIAN based in Peebles has been nominated for two prestigious national awards.

Nicola Couperthwaite, who owns At First Sight, is in the running for Beautician of the Year at the upcoming Scottish Hair and Beauty Awards in Glasgow.

Her salon has also been nominated for Beauty Salon of the Year.

Nicola has nearly 10 years experience in the beauty industry. During that time, she has worked at some of the most successful beauty salons and spas across the UK.

She opened At First Sight in Peebles in February 2013, and the salon offers Lily Lolo mineral makeup, Iappeal lash lift, Gel sculpting, Acrylic nails, Nouvatan spray tans, and much more.

Speaking to the Peeblesshire News, Nicola said: “It's nice to get the recognition. In my experience, some salons tend to focus on quantity rather than quality. We try to do things differently. That means taking a bit more time with our customers and making them feel special.”

The awards will be held at the Crown Plaza in Glasgow, on Sunday, November 29.
