A BALLINGRY teenager who assaulted his neighbour after downing a “ridiculous amount” of alcohol has been warned that he “could end up inside if you don't behave yourself”.

Terry Comiskey, 18, of 38 Westwood Crescent, carried out the attack on March 18 at Lochore Meadows, causing his victim to bleed.

Comiskey admitted assaulting the man, and striking him on the head with his head. He committed the offence while on bail.

Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard last Wednesday that Comiskey had been drinking Buckfast, vodka and cider.

Fiscal depute Dev Kapadia narrated: “During the course of the evening, his demeanour was described as aggressive.

“The complainer approached the accused because he became concerned about his behaviour, and asked why he was causing trouble.

“The accused became aggressive and suddenly headbutted him, striking him on the nose.

“The complainer described the blow as painful and the injury then started bleeding.”

Police were contacted and Comiskey was arrested. His victim did not require medical treatment.

Solicitor James Moncrieff confirmed that the victim was a close friend and neighbour.

He said Comiskey, an apprentice for a gas services firm, was “genuinely remorseful”.

He added: “He has had a chance to speak to him and has apologised for his behaviour on the evening. It's been accepted.

“Too much alcohol had been consumed and he does not remember a great deal about his behaviour.”

However, Sheriff Robert Vaughn pointed out that Comiskey was already on a community payback order, adding: “He's on a CPO and behaving like this.

“He's behind on his unpaid work – he's only completed half the number of hours since it was imposed in July.”

Ordering Comiskey to pay £250 in compensation, Sheriff Vaughn blasted: “You're building up a bit of a record. You're only 18.

“You could end up inside if you don't behave yourself. This was a ridiculous amount of drink and the type of drinks you were taking do not go together.”
