SUMMER fashions took centre stage on Friday in a fundraising show at the Ex Servicemen's Club in Peebles.

Local boutique Brevity unveiled its latest collection for a night of cutting-edge creations and catwalk capers.

And the evening of stunning outfits and accessories raised more than £700 for charity.

Eleanor Mabon from the Brevity boutique in Peebles told us: "Our annual fashion show is always great fun and, as always, was very well supported.

"The fashion show allows us to show off our latest collection and at the same time raise money for charities we care about.

"Going by the amount of laughter in the hall on Friday I'm sure everyone had a great night.

"We were supporting two great causes this year and I'm glad we raised as much as we did."

The two charities which will split the £733.10 that was raised on the night are the Peebles-based Alec Lucas Memorial Fund, which supports local football and national military causes, and the cancer charity Myeloma UK, which supports people with cancer and their families.

A total of nine models, who are all from Peebles, took to the Ex Servicemen's dancefloor to showcase the latest outfits from Brevity as well as accessories from Mark Turnbull jewellery and Tethara Gray bags.

The models' hair was styled by Gina Enickl and make up artist Nicola from First Sight Beauty Salon made the sure the ladies were looking their best.

Around 120 guests were also treated to a psychic medium show during Friday's fundraiser.

Eleanor added: "I'd like to thank everyone who helped make Friday's fashion show such a success and to everyone who came along to support us, and look forward to doing it all again next spring."
