SOME of mountain biking's biggest names will be wheeling into Peebles today ahead of the Shimano TweedLove International Enduro and Expo.

The endurance race is the biggest UK mtb enduro event of the year, with the biggest start line, the biggest prize money and some of the fastest riders on the planet.

Setting off from Peebles, the race will take in some of the best trails the Tweed Valley has to offer and some great spectator sport!

World champion Tracy Mosley will be defending her title and some world class riders will be riding for victory, including the Tweed Valley’s Katy Winton and Gary Forest.

Around 600 riders in total will take to the trails around Glentress and Innerleithen.

And back at base camp on Tweed Green around 50 stalls with the biggest bike brands, some cool street food, a beer tent, a live broadcasts, a bike track, trials demonstrations and much more will keep the thousands of fans happy.

Fiona Dalgleish from TweedLove told us: "The biggest enduro race in the UK will be leaving and coming back to Tweed Green, so it’s an awesome chance to get up close and personal with some of the biggest names in biking, including Tracey Moseley and Greg Callaghan fresh from their victory at the Emerald Enduro in Ireland last weekend.

"You can soak up the vibe of the big race at a busy and exciting event HQ, right in the middle of town – grab a beer, check out the bling bike kit, hang out with the riders, get something to eat or just enjoy the unique bike festival atmosphere by the River Tweed.

"Or you can head out into the valley to see the riders practicing – course maps will be available with advice on best spectator spots for you to see the best action. Bring your bike – you won’t run out of great trails to ride, we guarantee it!"

The expo opens on both Saturday and Sunday from 9.30am.

The Tempest Brewing Co beer tent will be open on Friday from 5pm to 9pm then tomorrow from 12noon to 9pm, and on Sunday from 12noon till 6pm.
