A PEEBLES choir has created a music video which incorporates the local area as well as your favourite weekly paper.

Members of InChorus have managed to rack up more than 1,000 hits on YouTube after incorporating many popular aspects of the town and of course the Peeblesshire News.

The idea came after the group recorded the song 'I Will Follow Him' from the 1992 film Sister Act.
The group wanted to put together the fun package which sees the choir running from the Eastgate, invading a local hotel and drinking coffee in a local chocolate shop.

Aly Skidmore, the Musical Director of Peebles choir InChorus, said: "The intention was to make a light hearted music video for one of our songs and as 'I Will Follow Him' has been popular with our audiences for the past year, it was the perfect choice.

"InChorus is proud of its connections with Peebles, and the town and surrounding area has been featured in past videos," she added.

The Peeblesshire News mocked up a front page for the video, which included the paper's masthead as well as a headline and article chosen by the group.

During the video, members were seen scouring the paper trying to find details of "him" so that they might "follow".

Aly said: "The people and businesses of Peebles, not to mention the Peeblesshire News, are extremely supportive of our ventures and we are very grateful to them for helping to make this project a success. The YouTube video has had over 1000 views already, and has been watched by people all over the world.

"We plan to make more films this year and have many ideas for involving the town and community."

The film comes after the group recorded a rendition of John Lennon's 'Imagine', in January which has been watched more than 2,000 times online. Like the Sister Act video, it was recorded in Peebles.
