BUS users in Tweeddale are encouraged to give their views at an event in Peebles next month.

Bus services throughout the area have seen significant changes this year with the town services under threat and then having BARC step in to take over.

The BARC 90A service set off on its maiden voyage on Monday and following this, Bus Users Scotland is holding a Your Bus Matters event in the Burgh Hall on Tuesday, September 6, in partnership with Scottish Borders Council (SBC) and local bus operators.

Running from 10am to 1pm, it aims to gather feedback from local passengers about both commercial and subsidised bus services in the region in order to try and improve services.

Bus Users Scotland, SBC and local bus operators will all be in attendance to discuss and answer any questions.

SBC’s Executive Member for Roads and Infrastructure, Councillor Gordon Edgar, said: "There has been considerable changes following First’s review of its Borders routes and this is a chance for passengers to provide feedback to inform future services.

"The Council has teamed up with Bus Users Scotland for Your Bus Matters events in Galashiels and Hawick in recent months, which have both been well attended.

"We hope this latest consultation will see local people come along and have their say."
