ORGANISERS of the Blyth Bridge & District Tractor Club annual run handed over another whopping cheque last weekend.

For the last 11 years the quiet roads of the Tweeddale have witnessed the amazing sight of up to 100 tractors taking part in the fundraising run.

And the total raised for Macmillan Cancer Support is edging closer to £100,000 each year.

This year's run in May, which took in Tweedsmuir, the Yarrow Valley, Traquair and Peebles, was enjoyed by more than 90 tractor drivers in their vintage machines.

Co-organiser Stan Weir presented the latest cheque, for £12,200, to representatives of Macmillan Cancer Care at Peebles Show.

Stan told us: "The tractor run is as popular as ever with almost 100 tractors taking part this year.

"We will continue to support Macmillan with future runs as well."

Macmillan Cancer Care provide support for anyone diagnosed with cancer and their families.
