PEEBLESSHIRE MP David Mundell is set to appear with his son Oliver on ITV's Border Life on Monday night.

The show will give viewers an insight into the life of the Secretary of State for Scotland, as well as his son, who is the MSP for Dumfriesshire.

The pair sat down with Fiona Armstrong last month to discuss their life in and out of politics for the prime time programme.

David told the Peeblesshire News: "This was rather different to my usual style of hard hitting political interviews that I’m used to doing but I won’t say whether it was more enjoyable or not!

"I reckon that the viewing public will see us in a slightly different light after this which is no bad thing for politicians in this day and age who often get accused of being too boring.

"I am up for doing most things but I am glad Oliver didn’t force me to join him on his horse riding lesson as I have no plans to be the next Tony McCoy."

Son Oliver added: "This could well be described as Keeping Up with the Mundell's though I’m not quite sure who my Kardashian equivalent would be.
"It’s not often you get to do an interview in the back room of a hotel with your Dad so I certainly made the most of the questions from Fiona."

The programme will be broadcast on Monday, September 26 at 8pm.
