A PEEBLES Church is hosting a jam-packed fundraising night next week.

From a silent auction to a fashion show, the Peebles Baptist Church is holding the night to collect funds to build a new church and community centre on their existing plot on the Southside of the town.

Members believe there is increasing need for these facilities due to the rapidly expanding growth in the area and the Church is looking to add to the congregation, plus have many plans in place to make the community centre a place for residents.

On Wednesday, October 5 at the Burgh Hall, the evening will kick off with a fashion show at 7.30pm. Stores M&Co and Castle Warehouse will be showcasing their new seasons clothing and party wear for ladies and children.

Amateur models of various ages and sizes will be strutting their stuff in the latest fashions.

The latter half of the evening will hold a Silent Auction, with sheets provided on entry. The end of the evening will be dedicated to the winning bids being announced.

A spokeswoman from the PBS fundraising committee told the Peeblesshire News: "We've got a small army of people involved in organising this and have been absolutely overwhelmed with the prizes donated from local businesses. We hope anyone who comes along will be tempted to treat themselves, or give the item as a gift."

The items given range in retail value between £15 to over £200, with various prices in-between, with a range of products on offer.

The event will serve up a range of music, plus refreshments such as Tea, Coffee, and Cake too.

Tickets are priced at £10, and doors to the event open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
