POLICE have named the second victim of a fatal crash earlier this month near a notorious blackspot.

Howard Wilson was driving a Vauxhall Zafira when it collided with another vehicle close to Leadburn Junction on Sunday, October 2.

The 41-year-old from Dumfries died at the scene.

Irene Robson from Peebles, who was in the other car, was also killed in the crash on the A6094.

Mr Wilson's family paid tribute. In a statement they said: “Howard was a very much loved son, brother and adored daddy.

"Howard had great friends and he will be fondly remembered for his love of music, life and family time.

"We would like to say thank you to all friends and family who have contacted us offering their kind wishes.”

Police are continuing with their enquiries into the collision and are particularly keen to speak to those who stopped immediately after the collision.

Anyone with information can contact Police Scotland on 101 or alternatively an anonymous report can be made through the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
