HOTEL bosses are searching for the perfect Peeblesshire pet.

And the lucky winner will receive an exclusive sketch of their animal by Cherith Harrison as well as a bag of goodies from her range in stock at Peebles Hydro.

The Peebles artist and designer was recently commissioned to provide illustrations for Sainsbury's festive shortbread tins.

And they have been flying off the shelves at her local branch in the Northgate ever since.

Cherith's animal-inspired gifts include cards, tote bags, tea towels and mugs.

And they have proven to be a big hit with Peebles Hydro visitors.

Patrick Diack, general manager of Peebles Hydro, said: "We've stocked her delightful range of gifts in our shop here at Peebles Hydro for a few years now and they're a massive hit with our visitors.

"Her collection represents something unique and quaintly Scottish and we're sure she'll come up with something very special for our winner.

"Plus, the gift of goodies is a perfect animal lover's present for Christmas."

The Hydro is running a competition over the next few days with the winner receiving a goody bag of Cherith's designs and an exclusive sketch of their pet on a postcard.

Entrants are asked to share a photo of their pet on Peebles Hydro's Facebook page with a reason why their pet should win.

The competition run from yesterday (Thursday) and the winner will be announced next Wednesday.

Mr Diack added: "We're delighted to offer the chance to win a bespoke drawing by the very talented Cherith Harrison."
