TWO women have appeared from custody at Jedburgh Sheriff Court accused of domestic assaults on men over the course of the weekend.

Twenty five year old Rebecca Skene is accused of threatening or abusive behaviour at her home in Hall Street, Walkerburn, on Saturday and struggling with partner Mark Smith.

She also faces charges of possession of a knife and a craft knife and shouting and swearing and repeatedly banging her head inside a police vehicle.

After pleading not guilty Skene had a trial date fixed for February 16 at Selkirk Sheriff Court with an intermediate hearing on January 16.

She was released on bail with the condition that she does not contact Mark Smith or enter Morebattle.

Twenty seven year old Ashley Gallagher also denied assaulting her former partner Derek Graham by striking him twice in the face at her home in Queens Drive, Hawick.

Her trial date was set for February 9 at Jedburgh Sheriff Court with an intermediate hearing on January 9.
