VISITORS were treated to a fantastic Christmas atmosphere at Alloa Tower this weekend.

The historic landmark welcomed people free of charge for its 10th annual Victorian Christmas Fayre on Sunday with around 200 people taking the opportunity to browse some inspiring gift ideas and see the 14th century building decorated for the festive season.

There was a Christmas card making workshop and face painting for the children, alongside a variety of stalls and a “lovely atmosphere” with staff donning Victorian dresses for the occasion.

Open for free as well, people also had the chance to go on the roof and enjoy stunning views of the town.

Alison Fraser, property manager, told the Advertiser: “There was just a lovely atmosphere throughout [the event].”

She added: “The kids came and enjoyed themselves, the card making and the face painting as well. We had soaps, we had candles and Christmas cards on stalls, selling big beautiful gifts.

“Everybody was mentioning and commenting on the beautiful atmosphere the tower actually had with the costumes, the lovely festive smells.”

Due to its popularity, Alison said she will continue running the event each year, so people should expect it back in 2017.
