MORE than a dozen school bus routes have been cancelled this morning as gritting crews continue to fight against ice and drifting snow.
But education chiefs have decided not to close any schools.
A full list of the affected routes is at the bottom of this report.
Although several minor roads around rural Peeblesshire, Kelso and Selkirk are affected by snow, roads bosses only know of two roads which are currently closed - the A699 (Selkirk to St Boswells) and the A708 (Yarrow Valley road near St Mary's Loch).
A Scottish Borders Council spokesman said: "We have crews at both road closures and we hope to have the snow cleared and the surfaces gritted soon."
More than a dozen cars were stuck on the A699 around Selkirk Golf Course from around 7.30am onwards.
And police reported around five or six cars stranded on the A708.
The spokesman added: "Apart from the A699 and A708 all primary routes are passable."
