THE Fab Four need little introduction especially in the world of pop music, however earlier this month a new quartet burst onto the swimming scene for Gala ASC in the shape of Laura Frizzel, Sarah Frizzel, Lindsay Jack and Lizzie Clelland.

They may not have the singing skills of John, Paul, George and Ringo, but they would have certainly needed their Yellow Submarine to keep pace with the Gala girls as they stormed their way to four medals and nine finals at Round 2 of the East District Age Group Championships at Glenrothes.

Round 2 of EDAGs means the 200M events with the Fly, Freestyle, Backstroke and Breaststroke all being run over the two days.

Laura started the ball rolling with gold in the 200M Fly.

Sarah followed her little sister with gold in the 200M Breast.

Lindsay took bronze in the 200M Back and also came 6th in the 200M Fly and 8th in the 200M Free.

Lizzie rounded of a great weekend with Bronze in the 200M Free, and also came 6th in the 200M Back and 4th in the 200M Fly.

Elsbeth Roper, Maili Brown, Sophie Allen and Andrew Watt also competed for Gala across the four discipline events and all had fantastic swims with PBs in each one.

Andrew also made the final of the 200M Fly finishing 8th.

It is by far the biggest haul of medals for Gala ASC for some time, an achievement that the club is extremely proud of.

The Club would also like to congratulate medal winners of the other Border Clubs and thank Rene Coupek and Lauren Jocelyn for looking after the Gala Swimmers over the weekend.

All eyes now look towards Round 3 in February where the club look for similar success in the 50M & 100M events.
