A CAR has been stolen from a West Linton street in the early hours of this morning (Thursday).
The news comes after we reported three vehicles were taken from across Tweeddale, just two weeks ago.
Police say a Blue Ford Galaxy was stolen from an address in St Andrew's Close, but recovered a short time later in Croft Road.
Shortly before it was found, the car was seen in the local area being driven by a man described as mid 30’s with dark brown collar length hair and wearing a brown jacket.
Police are now carrying out inquiries and are urging anyone who has information relevant to the investigation to come forward.
Inspector Scott Finlay of the Galashiels Police Station said: "I’m appealing to members of the local community in West Linton to contact police with any information they may have especially if they saw any suspicious persons in the area around the time that the vehicle was taken.
"Many thieves are actually opportunists who do not have to break in at all because a door or window has been left open or unlocked. Keep your home securely locked at all times."
