RESIDENTS across Peeblesshire have been reminded to remain vigilant and report anything suspicious after several housebreakings in the area.
Over the course of 10 days in January 2017, five properties within Eddleston and Peebles were subjected to House-Breakings.
The culprits gained entry by smashing rear doors and thereafter searching the property within.
On each occasion occupiers were not within at the time. It is suspected that culprits were looking for vehicle keys.
Police Scotland are reminding all members of the public to lock all doors and remove keys from the lock. They recommend that car keys should not be kept near front or back door.
A pro–active team is currently within the Borders currently investigating these crimes.
Officers are requesting the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious person(s) or vehicle(s), with registration numbers noted.
Security advice can be viewed on Police Scotland website, www.scotland.police.uk.
