BORDERERS can now nominate a local project for funding in this year's National Lottery Awards.
The accolades cover seven categories including: sport, heritage, arts, environment, health, education and voluntary/charity and there is also a 'Special Achievement Award' to recognise the outstanding contribution made by an individual to improving the lives of others.
More than £2 million was given out across the region last year alone, with 56 local projects getting a share.
That included £9,440 to the Peebles Community Centre Management Committee to run a weekly arts and crafts club for older people in Peebles and Innerleithen; and £20,000 to the Eastgate Theatre and Arts Centre to enrich and enlarge their programme.
To nominate for this year's awards, tweet @LottoGoodCauses with your suggestions or call 0207 293 3329 to find out more and to enter.
Entries must be received by midnight on April 7.
