MEMBERS of a Peeblesshire curling club are celebrating after winning the Paterson Rosebowl trophy for the first time in 37 years.
Broughton United Curling Club are one of six clubs to play in the Peeblesshire Province, with each team represented by two rinks and competing in the league during the curling season.
The Broughton team, which was founded by a friend of Robert Burns, have competed every year, and celebrated their bicentenary milestone in November 2015.
Grace Masterton, President of Broughton United Curling Club told the Peeblesshire News: "We have not won this trophy since 1980 so we were delighted to come out on the top of the league table this year. Peebles, West Linton and Broughton were equal going into the last game.
"West Linton and Broughton finished up on equal points but Broughton had three more ends and emerged the winners."
The two skips who led the team to victory were Suzi Noble and Benny Masterton.
