DEAN McColm guided Hawick Waverley into the Waddell Cup semi-finals with a superb double hat-trick.

McColm’s sextet of goals, as well as strikes by Jordan Yardley and Declan Leckie saw Waverley hammer Coldstream Amateurs 8-2.

Hawick will be joined by Chirnside in the last four after they defeated Newtown 3-0.

And Tweedmouth Amateurs knocked out Langholm Legion with a 4-2 win at the Arches.

In Division A, West Barns Star ended their Border Amateur Division campaign with a 1-0 win at Jed Legion.

Grant Wilson’s goal saw Tweeddale Rovers win the relegation clash with Gordon, which should mean the Peebles team are safe from the drop.

Michael Blackwood and Scott Duncan scored a hat-trick a piece in a six goal draw between Gala Hotspur and ten man Hawick Legion in Division B.

The point pulls Gala out of the relegation zone but dents Legion’s promotion hopes.

Gala striker Stewart Robertson said: “We were 3-0 down at one stage but probably should have won the game in the end. It was a great match.”

Evan Smith, Toby Aitchison, Kai Strang, Craig Heath and Lee Heath all scored for Berwick Colts in a 5-4 win over Melrose in Division C.

Hagen Steele’s goal kept Lauder’s promotion chances alive with a 1-0 win over St Boswells but the Saints remain in second place, a point above Lauder with two games in hand.

Nathan Trotter scored his first goals for Selkirk Victoria but the Souters still lost 4-2 to Duns Amateurs, who now need just one point to secure promotion.
