A LAD jacked up on booze and legal highs found himself in hot water after falsely accusing Oakwood Lounge door staff of stabbing him.

Fiscal depute Matthew Kerr told Alloa Sheriff Court last Thursday that police received a call at around 11pm on May 29 last year from the accused Michael Murray.

The 26-year-old claimed he had been assaulted by the Sauchie bar's stewards and required medical attention for an eye injury.

Officers went to the Oakwood to investigate, where the staff confirmed that Murray had been ejected for his drunken behaviour. However, separate witnesses confirmed that no assault had taken place.

The accused was later traced by police and found to be heavily under the influence of drink and drugs.

He again claimed he was assaulted by the door staff. The cops noted that he had a minor laceration on his right forearm, but no other injuries or blood stains.

At 11.50pm, Murray woke his mother up at an address in Alloa's Claremont by shouting: "The doormen have done me in. They tried to kill me."

The police and ambulance service were contacted. The accused, who had fallen through a kitchen door, was found to have suffered an injury to his right-hand side and right forearm.

Murray became argumentative towards the police, claiming that he had been "stabbed" by the Oakwood's door staff.

The accused was taken to hospital for his injuries. He maintained that he was attacked and provided a statement that his injuries were caused by the bar's staff and not by the kitchen door.

Murray later retracted his statement, however officers had devoted 30 hours of police time to the investigation.

Defending, Kelly Howe claimed that her client was heavily intoxicated after mixing a large quantity of alcohol with legal highs.

She highlighted Murray's positive Criminal Justice Social Work report, stating that he is currently addressing his mental health issues and has a supportive home environment.

Sheriff David Mackie told the accused: "This is too serious for you to be admonished."

He sentenced Murray, of Maple Court in Alloa, to a Community Payback Order with supervision for 12 months for wasting police time.
