THE 2017 bowls season rolled into action in West Linton last weekend.
On Friday evening West Linton Bowling Club held its 2017 opening evening with club president, Tom Robertson, thanking everyone for coming and wishing all an enjoyable season.
He introduced the committee and thanked those members involved in preparing the club and the green.
And he invited his wife, Jane, to throw the silver jack which was followed by two very good bowls much to the delight of the spectators.
The green was officially opened and a game took place between the President's and Vice President’s teams.
This was followed by a buffet supper prepared by Helen MacLennan and Liz Jent.
Anyone who would like to try lawn green bowling why should attend the beginners day on Sunday, April 30 from 2pm.
Weather permitting everyone can enjoy a fun game with suitable footwear provided as well as club bowls and a little coaching if required.
