SEVERAL phone networks are down across Peebles for the third time in two months.

'No service' problems were previously reported on Monday, March 27 and Tuesday, April 18, as engineers carried out 'essential maintenance' on a telephone mast in the area.

The issues currently mobile affecting users today, (Monday, May 8) are on the EE, O2, Three, Tesco Mobile, and GiffGaff networks.

EE's online network service checker said: "We've had some reports from other people also experiencing problems nearby. Our engineers are looking into it and we'll keep you updated."

The Peeblesshire News have contacted EE for a further comment on the issue.

On the coverage and network status page for O2, GiffGaff and Tesco Mobile, it states: "We'll be carrying out some maintenance on our phone masts in this area on Monday, May 8. Our network is currently working fine. If you’re experiencing a problem with service, try switching off your device and then switching it back on again."

A statement on Three's website doesn't state problems affecting users today, but warned of works taking place later this week: "We're planning some network improvements in your area on Thursday, May 11, 2017. We really hope this doesn't affect your services too much, but once we're done you'll have a better network experience."
