THERE'S no need to head for Amsterdam this spring.
Gardeners at Abbotsford have teamed up with the horticultural students at Borders College to plant a tulip display to rival the best the Netherlands can offer.
The green-fingered students have planted around 8,000 bulbs to create a spectacular display for visitors throughout May.
Jayne Billam from Abbotsford told us: "Take a stroll in Abbotsford's walled gardens and discover the colourful tapestry of tulips.
"With over 20 varieties, among them the subtle colours of Brown Sugar and Cairo contrasting with the rich antique tones of Recreado and Havran, in our formal walled garden, as well as our woodland walks and wildlife, Abbotsford is the place for tulips this season."
Once the tulip season is over the gardeners have plenty of summer flowers, including roses, ready to bloom.
