NHS Borders have confirmed that they have been affected by a national cyber attack.
At least 40 hospital trusts across the UK have been hit by a the cyber attack, plunging NHS computing systems into chaos.
It's not currently understood how much data of Borders patients has been accessed by hackers.
A statement issued by NHS Borders said: "We can confirm that NHS Borders has been affected by the current national cyber attack, and all necessary control measures have been taken to minimise the impact.
"The networks at the three affected community sites have been isolated, software has been shut down and there is no immediate risk to patient care or confidentiality.
"All other NHS Borders services are currently operating as normal."
