NHS Borders have revealed that three sites have been affected by Friday's cyber attack.
Over 40 hospital trusts across the UK, plus car manufacturers Nissan and Renault are said to have been affected by the cyber attack.
Security experts have announced that up to 74 countries have been affected by the ransomware hacking attack.
A statement issued by NHS Borders on Saturday afternoon (May 13) said: "The three NHS Borders community sites affected by the national cyber attack are Teviot Medical Practice in Hawick, Hawick Community Hospital and the Learning Disability Service office based in Earlston.
"These are isolated incidents and all other services continue to run as normal.
"Our IT team have been actively monitoring systems and assessing any impact on the services provided from the three affected locations.
"We have a recovery plan in place which we are currently working to, and we continue to actively monitor the situation.
"Any NHS Borders staff members who are laptop users at these sites are asked to contact the IM&T service desk when they return to work."
Further details on any impact on patients or staff is expected to be issued in a statement tomorrow afternoon (Sunday, May 14).
