A PEEBLESSHIRE couple are opening their woodland garden at Baddinsgill this weekend to raise money for a charity which supports families who have gone through the loss of a baby.

Gavin and Elaine Marshall’s garden is situated in the heart of the Pentland Hills, 1,000ft above sea level, and two miles outside West Linton.

With the Lyne Water running through it, Baddinsgill offers spectacular views, and riverside and woodland walks.

Azaleas, rhododendrons and carpets of bluebells complement a fine collection of mature trees. The event takes place today (Sunday, May 21) from 2pm to 5pm.

As well as being of interest to gardeners, it will be a family day out, with a treasure hunt for the children, plus teas and home baking.

All proceeds are to go to SiMBA – Simpson’s Memory Box Appeal. Admission is £4 and children go free. Partial wheelchair access, dogs on leads welcome.
