POLICE in Peebles have issued 24 parking tickets across the town in the last month.
The figure was revealed at the latest community council meeting.
PC Roger Changleng said: “From May 12 to June 8, 18 tickets were issued where a vehicle was parked for longer than the prescribed time, three were in the Old Town, seven at Northgate, four at Eastgate and four along the High Street.
“Two tickets were issued for parking on a double yellow line at the Eastgate and High Street, three for parking on a single yellow line in the Old Town and one for parking in a pedestrian zone on School Brae.
He added: “While Peebles is not alone in the Borders for parking issues, officers are continuing to clamp down on motorists who do this across the town.”
