TRADITIONAL music legends Aly Bain and Phil Cunningham have announced a summer concert at Kelso’s Tait Hall on Saturday, August 5.

The fiddle and accordion players have established themselves in the world of traditional music and have been described as “probably the best traditional musicians you are ever likely to hear”.

Since teaming up in 1986, Aly, who hails from Shetland, and Phil, from Edinburgh, have enjoyed an obvious chemistry.

The pair have picked up the Best Duo Award at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and been nominated in the Scottish Traditional Music Awards for ‘Live Act of the Year’.

Known for their musical magic and quick-witted humour, the duo will pull your emotional strings one moment and have you falling off the seat with laughter the next.

Phil said: “Aly and I are really looking forward to returning to Kelso. The Scottish Borders has some of the best audiences and it is always a pleasure perform there.

“We recently celebrated 30 years of playing together and we are looking forward to many more shows and happy memories.”

The event starts at 7.30pm in the Tait Hall, Kelso and tickets cost £16 plus booking fees.
