The Peeblesshire News' @PHSBookchat column is to get a makeover – and we’re asking our readers to help choose its new look.
Peebles High English teacher Mia Stewart, who co-ordinates the project, told us: “Tweed Reads will be the new name for PHS Bookchat, reflecting a community-wide focus on developing a culture of personal reading in Tweeddale.
“To mark this change, a logo competition was launched in June and many wonderful, creative entries were submitted. Of these, four have been shortlisted. You can vote for your favourite here, through Peebles High School and Tweed Reads social media on Facebook and Twitter. Voting closes on Friday, August 18. Watch this space and look for the changes on Page 4 in the coming weeks!”
Bookchat was launched last year in schools across Tweeddale in an effort to get people talking about, and hopefully reading more, books. Every week the Peeblesshire News features teachers, pupils and readers from the community to tell us what they are reading. Email your reading recommendation, and a photo of yourself with your book to mia.stewart@glow.sch.uk
