PEEBLESSHIRE Youth Trust has unveiled its new programme manager.

Sarah Keen has taken on the role, replacing Shona Haslam who stepped down to become the leader of Scottish Borders Council.

The charity, which works with children aged 10 to 14 across Tweeddale, helps to support their transition from primary to secondary school and helps build their confidence.

Sarah has already contributed a great deal and is a well-known face in the community, having grown up in Peebles and lived in the town for most of her life.

The mother of four, who began her new job on Monday, has a degree in biochemistry and has worked in marketing and business development.
She has more recently worked with young people across Scotland as a science communicator.

Chairperson of PYT, Anne Scott, said: “We wish Shona well with her new post, and thank her for all the work, energy and enthusiasm that she gave to PYT. Sarah’s experience of working with children, as well as her organisational skills and passion for the work that we do, will sustain a bright future for the charity.”
