VOLUNTEERS are being sought across Tweeddale to help prepare for an upcoming exhibition.
The team at the Tweeddale Museum and Gallery in Peebles are looking for locals to lend a hand to choose and research objects that tell stories of lives in the Peeblesshire landscape.
Those who give their time will have the opportunity to work with some of the objects from the museum’s collection which have been made, used or even hidden in Peebles and the surrounding area.
Working with Live Borders staff, they will then prepare the objects for display and create accompanying text and their own interpretative response.
The result will be a personal glimpse into the rich history of the area in the Lives in a Landscape exhibition.
As well as this volunteer project, there will be a series of cycling and walking trails around Peeblesshire to encourage members of the public to visit the original locations of many of the objects featuring in the exhibition.
The project is supported by Museums Galleries Scotland and will be part of the Borders Heritage Festival.
The museum seeks up to 12 volunteers over the age of 18 to join them between now and the exhibition opening on Saturday, September 9.
Travelling expenses are included.
Anyone interested is urged to contact the museum on: 01721 724820 or email at: sarah.chapman@scotborders.gov.uk
