PARTICIPANTS from Peebles are being sought to take part in a fundraising bike-a-thon tomorrow (Saturday).
As reported in the Peeblesshire News last week, the grandparents of eighteen-month-old Violet Brave Hamilton-McEwan, who is battling a rare condition which requires a liver and kidney transplant, are fundraising for her treatment.
Grandad Clive, 74, set off nearly three weeks ago on a cycling challenge in France with friend Mike Clifford, 71. The pair’s 1,000-mile ride aims to raise £3,000 for the youngster.
To coincide with Clive and Mike’s final day, a bike-a-thon has been organised in Peebles, with locals encouraged to get involved and donate where they can.
It will take place at Bspoke Cycles on Peebles Road from 10am-4pm tomorrow (September 9), where participants are invited to attempt to cover the same distance as Clive and Mike.
Grandmother Karen Hamilton said: “Anyone who gets on a bike to ride will be entered in to a draw for a free massage from Borders Physio.”
