CARE bosses are set to hold their very own recruitment drive later this month fill vacancies across the region.

SB Cares want to fill a number of different positions during the three drop in sessions.

The company is keen to hear from people who are looking for a career caring for people in their local community.

Current vacancies exist across a range of services, including home care, residential care and day support services for both older people and people with a learning disability.

Managing director Philip Barr said: “Since becoming an independent care provider in April 2015, SB Cares has continued to go from strength to strength, with the Care Inspectorate now grading 84 percent of our services as good or very good.

“Every day across the Borders, our staff are providing high quality adult social care services and making a real difference to the lives of some of our most vulnerable residents.

“None of this would be possible without the dedication of our staff teams and our thanks go out to them for all their support and hard work."

The recruitment days take place in the Heart of Hawick on Thursday, September 28 between 2pm and 8pm, at Southfield Community Centre in Duns from 2pm to 8pm the following day, and concludes at the Ability Centre in Galashiels on Saturday, September 30 from 10am to 4pm.

Mr Barr added: “What we are looking for at these events is to meet with people who are interested in being part of a dynamic and progressive organisation which is determined to build on its successes by continuing to expand and grow the services provided for the people of the Borders.

"I would encourage anyone who would like to find out more about working for us to take the time to come along.

"As well as being able to speak to staff about what it could mean to become a valued SB Cares employee, you will be given the chance to be interviewed on the day.”

As one of the region’s largest local employers, SB Cares offer competitive terms and conditions including a good salary, 28 days annual leave, generous pension contributions and other staff benefits.

Comprehensive training is also provided so previous experience is not essential.

Operations manager Shona MacCorquodale added: “SB Cares can offer a great opportunity for anyone who would like to work in care, whether you are an experienced worker or have not thought about it before.

"We are really keen that as many people as possible take the time to come along to these events to speak to us and find out if this extremely rewarding career might be for them, with all the extensive training and development opportunities that are available.”
