ON Sunday the members of Broughton Bowling Club competed for the Swan Trophy.
The unique pairs competition allows partners to be selected randomly.
Starting off with grey skies, the weather gradually improved as the jumbled pairs competition progressed, and at the conclusion, the games were played in bright sunshine.
The final was won by Billy Rutherford and Geoff Elwood, who narrowly beat Elenor Dods and Dorothy Wright.
The trophy was presented by Grant Swan, grandson of Mrs Sarah Swan who had donated the silverware to the club.
