BORDERS athletes enjoyed success at the Scottish Schools Indoor Championships in Glasgow.

Innerleithen's Bryony Patterson reached the top of the podium for Peebles High after winning the Under 20s triple jump with around 40 centimetres to spare.

The 17-year-old reached 10.93 for victory.

And she followed it up with a fifth place finish in the Under 20s long jump.

Berwickshire High's Rosie Browne also claimed the Scottish Indoor title with a height of 2.60 metres in the Under 20s pole vault.

Cardrona's Ellie O'Hara had to settle for two silver medals after her favoured triple jump event isn't held in the Under 16s age group.

The Peebles High pupil reached 5.42 metres to finish second in the Under 16s long jump.

And she clocked a new best time of 7.96 seconds to finish runner-up in the 60 metres.

Peebles High's Ailsa Innes claimed a bronze medal in the final of the Under 20s 800 metres with a time of 2.13.84.

But there disappointment for her training partner Charlotte Clare, who was wrongly denied a place in the final despite being the third fastest qualifier in the heats.

Kelo's Douglas Young recorded a new personal best of 7.30 seconds to finish fourth in the final of the Under 20s 60 metres.

And Innerleithen's Eve Huxley also set a new best time when she finished sixth in the final of the Under 20s 60 metres with 8.14 seconds.
