As part of Stobo Castle’s commitment to supporting community events and local rising stars, they recently announced their sponsorship of pro golfer, Craig Howie.

As well as financial backing the sponsorship package also allows the rising star of the fairways full access to the spa's facilities.

Craig said: "Stobo showed great support having already kindly granted my brother and I full access to the gym and spa facilities as part of our training and preparation.

"Stobo have previously shown a large commitment to developing young talent in the local area and I could think of no better brand to be associated with.

"The money will allow me to compete in a large number of events worldwide. This year I’ve already been able to travel to and compete in Spain, Egypt and Morocco and my schedule is taking me to a number of different counties in Europe over the summer and autumn months.

"Stobo’s funding will allow me to properly prepare and therefore compete at my best in these events and hopefully help me climb the professional ranks. Without the funding, it would be financially impossible for me to play professional golf full-time, that is why the sponsorship money is so important to me."

Craig is currently focussing on Pro Golf Tour in an attempt to gain promotion to the Challenge Tour.

And he will also be returning to the European Qualifying School with the goal to gaining a full European Tour card by the end of the season.

Jenni Watts, marketing director at Stobo Castle, added: “We recognised the immense enthusiasm and commitment Craig showed for golf and hopefully the financial assistance Stobo has offered will help him realise his potential.

"We wish Craig the very best of luck over the next few years.”
