FOR the past 27 years Charlotte Dola has been living at Riverside House in Peebles.
So it was fitting that she was given the honour of leading the celebrations to mark the Eildon Housing Association sheltered accommodation turning 30 years old.
Charlotte moved into Riverside House during May, 1991.
Last Wednesday she joined the sheltered housing co-ordinator Kathleen Ewart in cutting the cake.
Riverside residents were treated to an afternoon of fun, music and party food to mark the anniversary
Jimmy Gold's In Harmony had the feet tapping.
And Trishaw volunteer Jo Cuncliffe helped many of the residents savour the fine weather by taking them on cycle runs around Peebles.
Eildon’s chief executive Nile Istephan was among the party guests.
He told us: "It is always lovely to come to Riverside House and it is extremely satisfying to see that like our other four sheltered developments in the Borders, our staff continue to offer a first-class service to our tenants and it remains such a desirable place to live.
"Of course it is not just about the fabric of the building, but all the people who live here, and have welcomed us into their home today to celebrate such a happy occasion.”
