THE Met office have issued a yellow (be aware) weather warning affecting the central and western parts of the Borders.
The warning will be valid tomorrow (Saturday, June 9) between midday and 9pm.
Slow moving thunderstorms are likely to develop during Saturday afternoon and this will bring a risk of heavy rain, hail and lightning too, with a potential for some flooding of roads and small watercourses.
The forecaster added that the exact area where these thunderstorms will occur cannot be predicted but where they do happen they will be slow to clear.
On Sunday, there will be a continued risk of heavy showers in central and eastern areas (away from the coast) but should be less frequent.
