A PEEBLES pensioner has braved the shave in a bid to raise funds for a cancer charity.
Jennie Johnston has previously undertaken several fundraisers for Macmillan.
But this week the 67-year-old followed through with her most hair-raising challenge yet to boost the charity further.
Jennie, who moved to Peebles on her retirement eight years ago, said: "I feel that if Iām going to ask people for money I should be doing something hard, something out of my comfort zone ā and Braving the Shave is certainly that.
"I chose Macmillan because we all know someone affected by cancer.
"Macmillan not only provides doctors and nurses but also financial and social support.
"They provide advice on care and help shape policies, working with government to improve lives."
Jenny, who is a member of Macmillan's Peeblesshire Fundraising Group, had her hair shaved at Artformer's on Rosetta Road at 9am on Thursday.
