A RECRUITMENT roadshow is about to hit the road in the Borders - and there are dozens of jobs up for grabs.

SB Cares, the company that provides adult social care services on behalf of the local authority, is expanding.

And throughout August and September bosses will host a series of recruitment events.

SB Cares director Philip Barr told us: "What we are looking for from these events is to meet with people who are interested in joining our existing teams and being part of a dynamic and progressive organisation which is determined to build on its successes by continuing to expand and grow the services provided for the people of the Borders.

"I would encourage anyone who would like to make a difference in people’s lives, supporting people in their own communities across the Scottish Borders, to come along and speak to us about the opportunities and benefits we can provide.”

SB Cares, who have vacancies across a wide range of services, want to hear from anyone who is considering a career in looking after people in their local community.

Positions currently available include home care, residential care and day support services for older people and people with a learning disability.

Operations director Lynne Crombie added: “SB Cares can offer a great opportunity for anyone who would like to work in care, whether you are an experienced worker or have not thought about it before.

"We are really keen that as many people as possible take the time to come along to one of these recruitment events to speak to us and find out if this extremely rewarding career might be for them, with all the extensive training and development opportunities that are available.”

The drop-in events will give potential candidates an opportunity to speak to staff from both SB Cares and Scottish Borders Council’s HR department.
