CLYDESDALE MSP Aileen Campbell met with the Patient Group at Biggar Medical Practice on Monday, to discuss improvements to services in the area.
During her visit, the Group highlighted their work with the ambulance service to improve coverage, their ongoing efforts to improve community resilience and called to widen access to defibrillators.
They also discussed some of the challenges facing healthcare in Clydesdale due to the centralisation of services as well as fears over the future of the Lockhart Hospital, in Lanark which is now closed to new patients due to a GP staffing crisis.
Ms Campbell said: "It was great to see the Patient Group and hear more about their work to improve health and wellbeing in Biggar.
"They are clearly focused on a number of areas they have identified where they can make a difference to health outcomes in the town and the surrounding area," she added.
"By patients, professionals and parliamentarians working together, we can tackle many of the health related issues. I look forward to working with them and to supporting their efforts over the coming months."
